Artifact: efficiency_rebound_ledger_v1. This note treats productivity gains as a ledger, not a slogan: time saved, added work, and who captures the benefit have to be tracked together before the efficiency claim is accepted.
Artifact
AI can reduce one task while raising the floor for everything around it. The review object asks what was saved, what was added, who recovered time in practice, and who captured the benefit.
Ledger
If the output floor shifts upward, the old promise of productivity can become a disguised obligation. The ledger keeps the accounting visible so the system does not turn a tool gain into a management tax.
Review
A useful challenge should identify a missing field, an unsupported causal link, a stale evidence timestamp, or a condition under which the proposed control fails. If the benefit lands somewhere other than the user, the ledger has to say that too.
The productivity, automation, or management claim under review.
The hours, minutes, or attention budget that automation appears to free up.
The extra review, cleanup, coordination, or supervisory load that appears after the gain.
The new baseline for expected output once the tool becomes normal.
The time a person actually gets back, not the time a slide deck claims.
The person, team, or manager responsible for the boundary of the change.
The person or group that actually captures the gain.
The source date, case date, or window that anchors the claim.
The scope change required when savings turn into new obligations.
The recorded state: supported, narrowed, pending, or retired.
